I guess this proves that white space doesn't have to be white, just empty! I enjoy creating in this style, and I hope you all had fun with it too! I can't wait to see what you've created.

A Note From Marie
To my fellow bloggers I am sending my first bulletin regarding my situation, health-wise.
I deeply appreciate the good wishes you have sent me and it is touching to know I'm not forgotten. I have had a very illness-free life so it was a surprise when I had a life-threatening medical emergency necessitating surgery followed by two months in hospital and another 4-5 months under the care of a hospital-in-the-home service. I am improving from day to day. I am pleased to report that I have regained strength in walking (now without aids) and I am becoming more independent and almost well enough to cope with living alone.
My daughter saved my life in so many ways. She refused to give up on me and she nagged and bullied (in the nicest possible way)and persuaded me to believe the fight was worth fighting. She lives in the same street only a minute or two away if help is needed.
My problems melt into insignificance with the pandemic now affecting the lives of every person living on the planet. I wish you all a safe journey through the mayhem of life changing rules and the attack on the economy.
A big thank you to all of you for your thoughtfulness and good wishes.

Three Muses - Altered Playing Cards
In the first of these, I morphed the playing cards to bodies found on
Google, with a village background from my stash. In the second, I used
bodies from the Lost Gallery and some quotes I cybersurfed. I hope you
have all enjoyed the challenge of altering cards, and can't wait to see
the results!!

The Three Muses Challenge - GRUNGE/PRINT BACKGROUND
I hope you will enjoy our more challenging challenges! I think this challenge should appeal to all our wonderful artists as it involves the use of stamps, silhouettes, brushes and "print" backgrounds (newsprint, pages of books, dictionaries and music manuscripts). You can choose your own theme. I scan my backgrounds from an old dictionary and add some grunge and texture to make them more interesting. Adding splatters and stains enhances the depth and gives a "used" look. I admit being addicted to neutral tones mixed with black but colour is OK, of course.

Hopes for a new and improved Three Muses Challenge!
“Bev, Ann and I have decided that, after more than four
years, the Three Muses Challenge needs a boost to make it more interesting,
more fun and, most of important of all, more
challenging. Lower participation numbers and
comments from members are telling us that we need to add some pizzazz and we are working hard to find new ideas and new themes for our
wonderful family of artists.
The most amazing thing about your artwork is the
variety. Each person has his or her own way of approaching a theme and
every picture we see is unique. For those who may feel nervous about
abstract themes, or attempting new styles of art, I would like to assure you that
there are no rights or wrongs. The
joy is in taking part and learning some new tricks along the way.
We opened The Three Muses to
make a friendly place for artists of all styles whether mixed media, stamping,
card making or digital. This appreciation of “differences” has improved our own work tremendously. We learn from each other. By introducing fresh and much more varied challenges we will continue to grow.
Three Muses - Black, White & Red
Can you tell this color combination is one of my favorites? I've double-dipped! I'm looking forward to all your interpretations. It's always a pleasant surprise to see what shows up!!

The Blog is not accepting our Sneak Peek posts no matter which browser we use. Watch this space for more information on next week's Sneak Peek. We will keep trying to bring it back into its sidebar home.
In the meantime, our theme for next week is Rain/Umbrella to mark the change of seasons in the northern hemisphere and to celebrate record rainfall for the month of September in my part of the world.
Have fun!!

Three Muses - Eyes
Note: I'm posting this really early, since I'll be gone until this evening. I entered a sketchbook in the Sketchbook Project last year, and the sketchbooks are in town today and tomorrow! I'm looking forward to visiting my sketchbook, and seeing the work of others.

This is a bit tongue-in-cheek. I never know exactly where my muse is headed, and I just try to hang on for the ride!! For credits, see my blog. http://indybev.blogspot.com
