I'm sure you all have noticed the absence of Marie (Ozstuff) in the last couple of weeks. Marie is recuperating from major surgery. In the interim, Ann and Bev will keep our Three Muses, Take a Word and Digitalmania challenges up and running. We know you join us in sending Marie our thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery.

UPDATE: 10/27: Marie is having a long and difficult recovery. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

UPDATE: 12/22/19 Marie's recovery continues. Each step in her progress is to be celebrated. Your healing thoughts are welcome.

THREE MUSES - MAIL ART

Hi, it's me Ann, and this week I have challenged you to create some MAIL ART.  You could choose to make a postcard, decorate an envelope, create a new postage stamp or a mail art collage or something else entirely.  But just in case you need a little help to get started here is a little sample for your inspiration.

All we Three Muses ask is that you show us what you create by posting a link to your entry here.

Have fun.

(You can see credits here on my blog.)

Three Muses - Window

In my part of the world the leaves are falling, and the mornings are crisp.  Soon it will be winter, and I'll be like the cardinal......looking to Spring!    I think this style is a hold-over from our Rob Gonsalves challenge at our Digitalmania Flickr site last Friday, but I like to put windows in unexpected places.   I can't wait to see where you've placed your windows this week!

Three Muses Challenge - Vintage Collage/Memories

This week our theme is "vintage collage/memories".  Collages are addictive (at least to me) and this challenge is hopefully a fun way to use vintage images and ephemera.  Details of my sample picture are HERE - memories of the days when there were no rules about truth in advertising.

Three Muses - Doorways

I love the wide, innocent eyes of children.   This is for my grandchildren and great grandchildren, and for children everywhere.  May the door open wide and their dreams take flight, and may they be all that they can be.
Credits are on my blog http://indybev.blogspot.com/.     I'm looking forward to your doorways and their stories.  Enjoy yourselves!

A No Advertising Zone

We have always tried to make "The Three Muses" a friendly place where anything goes - a place for bloggers to post their lovely artwork and a place to make friends.  Everyone is welcome and there is definitely no preference as to art styles whether they be mixed media, totally hand-made, digital, cards, stamping, etc.  We truly value our regular participants.
The only rules we have are that entries should make some reference to the weekly theme and that our website should not be used for advertising.   There is a notice to this effect on our blog.
Unfortunately, any entry which appears to contain product promotion (usually through multiple posting to large numbers of challenges) and/or does not cover the weekly theme will be deleted without discussion.

The Three Muses Challenge - AUTUMN

Our theme this week is AUTUMN for all my friends in the northern hemisphere.  Spring is bustin' out all over here on the other side of the planet.
A colorful autumn is unfamiliar to me as I live in a part of the world where trees are evergreen and the leaves drop only when they are past their use-by date.  However, I have seen a New England autumn and it has left me with memories of brilliant, earthy colours.  What does autumn mean to you?

The Three Muses Challenge - WINDOWS

This week's theme is WINDOWS.  I had a moment's attack of insanity in choosing its title as princes are very hard to find while toads are in plentiful supply! Please excuse my cynicism!!

Three Muses - Maps

Lewis and Clark are noted for their 8000 mile journey through what was then the Louisiana Territory of America to the Pacific.   Like all traveling men, they required the help of a woman, Sacagawea,  to find their way!   For more of this story, see my blog.      I'm looking forward to seeing your maps!

The Three Muses Challenge - Angelic

The theme for this week is ANGELIC.  This challenge can be about angels or simply angelic faces - the faces of small children perhaps.
I created this angel some time ago but it has undergone some changes since then. Before anyone points it out, yes, I know that the bow is facing the wrong way!!

THREE MUSES - Oriental

The antiquities of China have always fascinated me --  the Great Wall, the ornate temples, and the wonderful terra cotta soldiers, who guarded their emporer for centuries beneath the soil of obscure farms until they were discovered in 1974 when a farmer was digging a well.   There are said to be 8,000 life-sized soldiers, 120 chariots,  520 horses, and 150 cavalry horses, many still buried in the three pits that were discovered, still standing guard since about 250 B.C.   Amazing!

The Three Muses Challenge - I've been steampunked!
