I'm sure you all have noticed the absence of Marie (Ozstuff) in the last couple of weeks. Marie is recuperating from major surgery. In the interim, Ann and Bev will keep our Three Muses, Take a Word and Digitalmania challenges up and running. We know you join us in sending Marie our thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery.

UPDATE 8/30: Marie's recovery is progressing well. She is expected to be moved to rehab very soon. Your notes of encouragement are being relayed to her.

UPDATE 9/3: Marie continues to make a slow recovery. Your notes of encouragement have been copied into a document and are being relayed to her. We all thank you for your concern.

Three Muses - Altered Playing Cards

In the first of these, I morphed the playing cards to bodies found on Google, with a village background from my stash.  In the second, I used bodies from the Lost Gallery and some quotes I cybersurfed.  I hope you have all enjoyed the challenge of altering cards, and can't wait to see the results!!

The Three Muses Challenge - GRUNGE/PRINT BACKGROUND

I hope you will enjoy our more challenging challenges!  I think this challenge should appeal to all our wonderful artists as it involves the use of stamps, silhouettes, brushes and "print" backgrounds (newsprint, pages of books, dictionaries and music manuscripts).  You can choose your own theme. I scan my backgrounds from an old dictionary and add some grunge and texture to make them more interesting. Adding splatters and stains enhances the depth and gives a "used" look.  I admit being addicted to neutral tones mixed with black but colour is OK, of course.
