I'm sure you all have noticed the absence of Marie (Ozstuff) in the last couple of weeks. Marie is recuperating from major surgery. In the interim, Ann and Bev will keep our Three Muses, Take a Word and Digitalmania challenges up and running. We know you join us in sending Marie our thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery.

UPDATE 8/30: Marie's recovery is progressing well. She is expected to be moved to rehab very soon. Your notes of encouragement are being relayed to her.

UPDATE 9/3: Marie continues to make a slow recovery. Your notes of encouragement have been copied into a document and are being relayed to her. We all thank you for your concern.

Muse Flash - Random Art Envelopes

We have seen a wonderful collection of art envelopes this week, combined with loads of enthusiasm for this new form of art. As promised, we have selected three names at random and paired them with each of the Three Muses who will forward their envelopes upon receipt of postal addresses. These are JACKIE (Bev), NETTY (Ann) and EILA A (Marie).
So could Jackie, Netty and Eila send their “snail mail” addresses to us via email at any of the three addresses listed on the right hand side of this blog page.     Ann is going away for two weeks on October 4 but will be able to send her envelope if she receives Netty’s postal address in time.

THREE MUSES - VICTORIAN - WEEK #70

She appears to be trying to get up the courage to enter. Wonder who's there, wonder what's on her mind. Hmmmm.
Me? I'm wondering why the world beats a path to my door or calls me when it's time for me to post my entry at the Muses! Sorry. I know you've been waiting. Here I am -- finally!

****MUSEFLASH ****

The Three Muses have just passed 400 followers in the past week. To celebrate, and express our appreciation to all the talented artists who participate in our challenges, we've decided to have a drawing at the conclusion of Marie's mail art challenge. We will draw three names at random, and each artist will receive a mail art envelope created by one of the muses. Which name gets whose envelope will also be determined at random. Be sure to enter the challenge this week and get your name in the hat! We wish we could present one to each and every one of you. You have made our little corner of the blog challenge world immensely fulfilling for each of us. There will be a bit of a time lag, as our Ann is going on a wee bit of a vacation until the last week of October. We'll let you know when the drawing is made so the lucky winners can send us their snail mail addresses.

The Three Muses Challenge - Art Envelopes

I have created my art envelope sample in vintage style but this is the MUSES CHALLENGE and ANYTHING GOES!!  We know we are going to see many different "takes" on this theme and we can't wait to see what you have for us.  Art envelopes are a great way of exchanging art and REAL MAIL with friends and they are great fun to make.  The idea is to create a design for an envelope so don't worry about having to make an envelope.  A digital or hand-made "mock-up" is all that is needed.

THREE MUSES 68 - THE PRINTED WORD

Hi, it's me Ann, and this week I am challenging you to create a piece of art that includes the PRINTED WORD somewhere within it.  You can make the printed word as large or as small as you like, you can use newspapers, poetry, song lyrics, book pages, tickets, tags, labels. stitching ..... or may be you have another idea of how you might use words in your art.  But just in case you need a little help to get started I have created a sample for your inspiration.

Remember anything goes, all we ask is that you have fun and show us what you make.  Can't wait!

THREE MUSES 67 - Numbers

"One Is the Lonliest Number" is a song I've always liked. I've discovered, in my many years, there's a great difference between being alone and being lonely. While I've been a widow for many years, I've never considered myself lonely. Life is too full of wonderful people and new experiences, not the least of which has been becoming part of the art blog community! I'm looking forward to seeing all the interpretations of this challenge!

The Three Muses Challenge - Back to Nature

September 1 is the first day of Spring in Australia so, for my BACK TO NATURE challenge, I have chosen flowers as the subject of my collage.
This is a very open theme and we are expecting the usual wonderful mix of styles and interpretations.  The sky is the limit!  Any aspect of nature, funny or serious, is welcome.
